Returning to Sri Lanka after a vacation in Malaysia, I couldn’t have received a better welcome than all your lovely comments and two blog awards by the lovely Nadia and always inspiring Umm Omar. When I saw that ‘Nadia’ had awarded me, I was ecstatic! My first award, yay! Add to that, Umm Omar awarded me the same ! Can you imagine how pleased I am?! Thank you so much, both of you!!

Rules of the Award:
- List five current obsessions.
- Pass the award on to five more fabulous blogs.
- On your post of receiving this award, make sure you include the person that gave you the award and link it back to them.
- When you post your five winners, make sure you link them as well.
- Don’t forget to let your winners know they won an award from you by leaving a comment on their blog.
My 5 Current Obsessions:
1. Lily: My 3-year old niece, YM’ s oldest rugrat is a constant obsession for me. I still remember how she looked in the airport the first time she came to Sri Lanka, just a 6 months old baby sitting oh-SO-adorably in her pram. I remember touching her to see whether she was real, I was that mesmerized by the dainty princess sitting inside. It hadn’t reduced a bit since then. Every little thing she says and does calls for a celebration in my family! Even though she is in the UK, we speak to her over the phone every single day. I can’t believe she will be starting school the coming Monday- how time flies.
Add to this, I have a feeling that I will fall under YM’s second rugrat’s charm too when I see her. Ahhh- I can see another obsession coming my way!
2. Hijab and Pins: I LOVE wearing different kinds of hijab and styling them with beautiful brooches. Visiting Malaysia proved to be a great delight to me because Muslim women there take great pride in wearing their hijab beautifully. They even had magazines explaining different styles in easy steps. I can’t wait to wear the scarves I bought there and try out the different styles.
3.Songs: I am really ashamed of this obsession. I love watching songs, especially the catchy Bollywood hits. Music is haram but yet I watch and listen.
Although I used to be a total movie buff [Astaghfirullah] I can’t remember the last time I actually sat watching a whole movie- just can’t tolerate sitting for 2 hours straight. But with songs- that’s where I find it virtually impossible to reduce. I have with superhuman effort reduced it to almost no songs this Ramazan- I hope to God it stays that way.
4. Clear skin: Ahh, how I obsess and fantasize about having a skin with no pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and acne scars. Sana rightly says that I am obsessed with having clear skin because she noticed that every time we go out I nudge her and say ‘Look at that girl, hasn’t she got beautiful skin?’. I have scoured the entire Internet for tips on how to get clear skin and tried most of the home remedies. I have yet to find one that’s gonna give me cleaaaaar skin!
5. Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate, Patties, Porridge my Mum makes, Ice cold water, Dinemore submarine, Pizza with chicken topping and dripping cheese- Um, maybe this is my empty stomach talking!
Now to the hardest part, choosing just 5 bloggers…it took me nearly 3 days to choose ONLY 5.
I have decided to pass on this award to the following fabulous blogs:
[I haven't still got around to writing the promised post about my holiday in Malaysia. Since my Quran-reading took a backseat during my stay there, I've been trying to catch up. I will write about it very soon insha'Allah.

You deserve the award, Sis!
Thank you so much for sharing your obsessions with us; it’s a fun read – specially the hijab part. Can you share hijab styles/tips with us, please? I know only a couple of styles, and frankly it’s getting boring.
PS: You cheated on number 5
I am glad that you enjoyed reading about my obsessions. Thought I could get away with cheating on no. 5 but you caught me!
I will be more than happy to share hijab styles and tips [becoz I SO know how monotonous it be can wearing the same style] and had been wanting to as soon as I saw those magazines- but the problem is I dont want to post pics with figures so wondering what to do…

oh so u somehow didnt want to leave out my second ‘rugrat’ then?
u simply cant function without singing!
and about the clear skin, it really makes me laugh cos u know i could have written exactly those same lines!
and as for your song obsession(knowing you) i dont think ur super human effort will last…
and you really do deserve the award, ur style of writing is very interesting and captivating and this article certainly cheered me up!
How can I NOT include the second rugrat?!
I will stop it- or the very least reduce my singing and watching insha Allah!
When I was writing the part about clear skin, I was thinking that you will surely relate to it hehe!
Song obsession- stop being so pessimistic!!

Can’t wait for your holiday post! I can relate to number 4. I used to have really clear skin up until about 6 months ago
and it sucks
Hopefully it will disappear- according to surveys one of the main reasons for acne increase is worrying about it. So don’t think too much about it.
…
BUT who am ^I^ to advise you, I am the one OBSESSED with it!

May I say, Congratulations! You really are a stunningly awesome writer, and your blog is fantastic!
The thing about home remedies is that some work for some people, and not for others. It really is hit and miss, but you’ll find the one that suits you soon, inshaAllah. I’m like you in that I always notice people’s skin conditions–when you’ve suffered any amount of acne, it’s hard to *not* notice it!
Your first obsession sounds like a treat!
THANK YOU, your compliment made my insides go all warm and fuzzy!
My first obsession IS quite a treat! When I need to relax or need some sort of distraction I usually think of her and her naughty tricks- it immediately revives me!
About the home remedies thing, I hope something will work for me very very soon.
