My 2 year old niece badly needed a haircut. Truth be told, she was in danger of looking like a beggar’s daughter [After reading this my sister will have a thing or two to tell me, believe me]. So my sister took her to the salon only for my niece to start screaming. My sister says that she has a tendency to be her worst when special guests are around and this was another one to add to her list. The girl there took one look at her and refused to cut saying that she might accidentally cut off her neck. Now personally I find that a touch dramatic; she could have at least waited to see whether my niece calmed down a bit. But she might have been a little lazy and so jumped on the perfect excuse…my sister quite irritated had told my bawling niece ‘You don’t want your hair cut and aunty also doesn’t want to cut your hair!’.
After that, my sister brought her home and an idea came to her head. She will cut her daughter’s hair! So she made her sit with the bathroom mirror on the bed and snipped away for almost an hour. All this while, my niece sat without a single sob escaping from her lips and when asked why she had explained that she didn’t want ‘Aunty’ cutting her hair. Wonder where she gets the stubborn streak huh.
So do you want to see how good a job she did? Here it is:
After the photo shoot, my niece had complained that she was tired and with good reason! My sister emailed the pictures to me with the message ‘Took her to the salon, she threw a fit, so took matters into my own hands!’ and called to ask how it looked. I showed it everyone at home and all of were surprised at my sister’s hidden talent! What they say is true:
“Necessity is the mother of invention!”

Some children do hate hairdressers as much as they hate dentists. But because of this incident, your sister discovered a talent, her daughter is happy, and they saved money
Exactly. And you forgot the fourth: a [not so bad] blog post!
cant believe you wrote about this! Imagine my surprise when i saw the back of my daughter’s head! Anyway i doubt i’ll be able to do it again, so much for a hidden talent.like you quoted ‘necessity is the mother of invention’
Exactly. I would have waited for you to find out for yourself about me blogging but wanted to see your reaction after reading this.
You have to thank me for making your hair-cut story famous!
Anyway, I know you wont do it again, this was a one-off and that’s why I had to publicize it.
She is very talented.
That looks pretty neat [and so cute!] she really does have a talent!
i might do just that! so dont forget your words!
